Gravitational Law Google Slides with Pear Deck Interactivity and Guided Notes

$0.00Price

This lesson is designed to be presented synchronously (live) or asynchronously at the student's pace. It includes:

  • Gravitational Law Google Slides with Pear Deck interactive questions
    • 44 colorful & engaging slides
    • 13 interactive Pear Deck slides
  • Gravitational Law Interactive Guided Notes (Google Slides)
  • Gravitational Law Printable Guided Notes (Google Doc)

The lesson introduces students to Newton's law of gravity and the elements that affect gravitational force. The topics covered include the difference between mass and weight, the law of universal gravitation, and how mass and distance affect gravity. I designed this lesson to fit the Energy Forces unit of NGSS. Once students have completed the lesson, they should be able to answer the following questions:

  • Why do scientists need creativity?
  • What is gravity?
  • How does gravity change your weight?
  • What factors affect gravitational force?
  • How do mass and distance affect gravitational force?

This presentation includes interactive Pear Deck questions throughout. Pear Deck is free for teachers and easy to use. It improves engagement through interactivity, participation, and increasing learning. You can use Pear Deck live in your classroom or send the presentation to the students to complete at their own pace. If you choose not to use Pear Deck, those slides can be easily deleted.

I typically have the students go through the presentation twice. The first time through, I have them answer the Pear Deck questions to improve engagement. I usually show the student responses (anonymously) to reinforce the concept and correct misconceptions. I then assign the guided notes and give the students a copy of the presentation to look up the answers. I use the Pear Deck responses for formative assessment, engagement, and participation points. I also love being able to send absent students the student-paced version of the lesson.
